Like any project, High House would just be a shell without the fabulous support that the project has enjoyed from the Royal Opera House, National Skills Academy, various agencies and of course from the community itself.
To make this project grow and to keep this centre of excellence a local, regional and national achievement, we need your help. What has been built so far is a superb skeleton which we have to flesh out into a living and working model of industry and art, commerce and community.
From all this hard work, time, effort and money comes the part that we all can play in creating a lasting legacy for High House and the area: every one of us has to use this once in a lifetime opportunity.

Our History
Many might believe that Purfleet and the wider Thurrock area has no history dating back more than one or two hundred years, and that the heavy industry, warehouses and harsh industrial landscape is all you would see on a trip to Purfleet itself.
However, Purfleet has a varied social and cultural history dating back thousands of years with elements of its past being hard to spot, until they are shown and explained and then the tapestry of another life will reveal itself.
Renovation
High House underwent several monumental restorations to its buildings and its grounds, ushering in a new age for the historic site. High House has turned from a piece of forgotten history into a centre of excellence for the performing arts and one of Thurrock’s most memorable landmarks.
Today’s High House
As it stands today, High House is a nationally renowned hub for the creative arts.
Companies including the Royal Opera House, Acme Studios, Creative and Cultural Skills and High House Production Park are producing groundbreaking art, compelling movies sets and much, much more.
